Senator Choi In The News

With the goal of safeguarding the food supply and national security, California State Senator Steven Choi introduced Senate Bill 1176. The measure seeks to prohibit adversarial foreign governments from leasing agricultural land in the state. According to the author, more than 1.03 million acres are currently owned by foreign entities. If approved, the law would take effect on January 1, 2027.
