This bill provides teachers with a tax credit for using their own income to purchase school supplies for their students.

Excludes from taxable income, settlement payments made in connection with any declared state of emergency made by the Governor.

Provides a tax credit to homeowners who perform qualified home hardening and/or vegetation management on their properties.

This bill will reduce the minimum franchise tax for each corporation, based on their income. The bill is currently a spot bill, but we plan to amend the language to substantially help businesses in California.

Existing law prohibits local governments from enacting or enforcing any charter provision, ordinance, or regulation requiring a person to present identification for the purpose of voting or submitting a ballot at any polling place, vote center, or other location where ballots are cast or submitted. This bill would repeal that prohibition.

Under existing law, a vote-by-mail ballot is timely cast if it is postmarked or otherwise time-stamped on or before election day and received in the mail no later than 7 days after election day. This bill would instead require a vote-by-mail ballot to be returned to the applicable elections official no later than the close of the polls on election day, except that the bill would require a vote-by-mail ballot cast by a military or overseas voter to be counted if it is postmarked on or before election day and received no later than 7 days after election day.

Will reduce the vote counting period and the Secretary of State’s certification deadline.

Will ensure the accuracy of voter rolls by requiring county election officials to contract with USPS for change-of-address data, and mail alternative residency postcards to registered voters if they have not voted, updated their address, name, or party preference within the past four years.

This bill establishes a state tax deduction to parents who donate to a 529 college tuition program.

This bill will require local government agencies to file their financial transactions reports within 10 months of the end of their fiscal year.

This bill provides retailers and small businesses with tax credits for expenses made to prevent retail thefts during the tax filing period.

This bill offers a tax credit for personal home security purchases.

This bill raises the Low-Value Exemption for property taxes from $10,000 to $50,000.

This constitutional amendment, if passed by the voters at the next election cycle, would prohibit the Governor from pardoning or granting clemency to immediate family members, in-laws, and other family members.
