Senator Steven Choi Honors 2026 Women of Distinction from Across Senate District 37

ORANGE, Calif. — Senator Steven S. Choi, Ph.D. (R–Irvine) hosted the 2026 Senate District 37 Women of Distinction Celebration on Thursday evening, recognizing outstanding women from across Orange County for their leadership, service, and lasting impact on their communities.

Held at the Orange City Council Chambers, the event brought together community leaders, local elected officials, and families to celebrate honorees representing cities throughout Senate District 37.

“Each of these remarkable women represents the very best of our communities,” said Senator Choi. “Through their leadership, compassion, and commitment to serving others, they have made a lasting difference in the lives of those around them. It is an honor to recognize their contributions and celebrate their achievements.”

The evening featured a formal program including the presentation of Women of Distinction awards to honorees from across the district, followed by recognition of the 2026 Woman of the Year, Julie Moore of Irvine, for her advocacy advancing Alzheimer’s research and awareness.

Moore, who is participating in a clinical trial and serves as a national advocate for research funding and patient support, was recognized for her courage and leadership in raising awareness of early-onset Alzheimer’s disease.

The Women of Distinction program recognizes individuals nominated by their peers and community members for exceptional service, professional achievement, and dedication to improving the lives of others.

Honorees represented communities across Senate District 37, including Irvine, Fullerton, Costa Mesa, Tustin, Lake Forest, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Woods, Orange, Anaheim Hills, Villa Park, Yorba Linda, Placentia, and Aliso Viejo. More information on the honorees can be found here.
