Friday, May 23rd, the Senator Appropriations committee will hear the follow bills from Senator Choi.
SB 267 (Choi) Provides a tax credit for teachers – in an amount up to $250 – for the purchase of instructional materials and classroom supplies per taxable year that are not reimbursed by their school.
SB 268 (Choi) Provides a straightforward but effective remedy by excluding emergency settlement payments from gross income taxation.
SB 269 (Choi) Provides a tax credit to homeowners who perform qualified home hardening and vegetation management on their properties.
SB 408 (Choi) Addresses the issue of people moving out of their county or state, but still receiving a ballot. Requires county offices to contract with USPS’s Change-of-Address database to ensure their voter rolls are well-maintained.
SB 595 (Choi) Will require local government agencies to file their financial transactions reports within 10 months of the end of their fiscal year.
SB 723 (Choi) Authorizes local governments to increase the threshold for the low value tax exemption for real property from $10,000 to $25,000.
SB 797 (Choi) Requires the CPUC to form a work group to study the benefits and cost of undergrounding and insulating power lines.
